Testimonials

“Captain Chemistry makes Science come to life!” I think this quote from a pupil captures the day completely, Richard. Your activities from EYFS to Y6 were inspiring. Thank you. Our pupils and staff can not wait for your next visit.

Mr S. Williams, St Patrick’s RC Primary School, Stockton-on-Tees.

We all enjoyed Captain Chemistry’s visit, his whole-class workshops were ambitious, engaging, exciting and well organised. Our children were completely inspired by the topics that he delivered. Additionally, staff valued his extensive subject knowledge and felt that his workshops provided them with invaluable professional development. The staff and children loved your workshops and are looking forward to you returning in the summer.

Mrs C. Craig, Headteacher, St Godric’s RC Primary School, Durham

THANK YOU CAPTAIN CHEMISTRY!

Richard came to deliver two afternoon workshops this week on light and the circulatory system.  The children loved all the practical, hands on tasks and couldn’t wait to get stuck in (especially with the heart and lungs!).  Captain Chemistry had them all engaged and enthused, and the children keep asking when he’s coming back. If you would like your science curriculum covered and delivered in a fun and practical way, then I would highly recommend Captain Chemistry!  Loved it!

P.S. Watch out for the Whoosh Bottle!  The children’s reactions were ace!

Mrs H. Standbrook, Y6 Teacher, Cheveley Park Primary School, Belmont.

‘Captain Chemistry came into our school for a full day to work with the children in Years 5 and 6. Before the event, he took time to discuss what we needed as a school and worked alongside staff to choose relevant topics for the day. From the moment they walked into the classroom, the children were captivated and engaged. The day was very practical, introducing children to aspects of topics that class teachers would find difficult to provide without specialist equipment or resources. The written work recorded the day’s events without being onerous or taking too great a role. Captain Chemistry’s greatest strength is his ability to engage reluctant learners; children in the class who generally find good behaviour and concentration difficult were spellbound and on task throughout. The amount of learning packed into one day was incredible and I cannot recommend Captain Chemistry highly enough.’
